This has been a pretty quiet year in the HVAC distribution business, at least according to the latest survey information from the Heating, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). The organization recently published its J.P. Morgan/HARDI 2011 HVAC Survey of over 100 distributor members. The survey showed weak improvement in residential replacement equipment, but did show some favorable gains in the commercial market.
According to Talbot Gee, HARDI executive vice president and COO, it is important to note that comparing this year’s unitary shipments to those of recent years does not provide an accurate barometer for the industry.
