The Evergreen™ retrofit ECM blower motor gives contractors the ability to replace a PSC motor running on a 24-V thermostat with the ECM motor. The Evergreen AH is the first model available in the line. It is suitable for most air handlers, including geothermal heat pumps, and it will work well with IAQ products, such as high-efficiency air cleaners and HEPA filters, said the company. According to the manufacturer, the motor is not designed to be a generic replacement for a failed ECM, but as a substitute for a PSC in an existing HVAC system. The brushless DC motor has a speed range of 600-1,200 rpm.
