Time of Savings makes it possible for the Nest Thermostat to learn the price of energy for customers on Time of Use (TOU) rate plans so it can automatically adjust itself to help customers use less electricity when energy prices are most expensive.

Commonwealth Edison Co. (ComEd) announced it is partnering with Nest® Labs and Xfinity to offer incentives of up to $40 to the first 10,000 ComEd customers who enroll in Nest’s Rush Hour Rewards™ or Xfinity Home’s Summer Energy Management program.

Nest share results from three energy-savings studies that indicated, on average, the Nest Learning Thermostat saved customers about 10-12 percent on their heating bills and 15 percent on their cooling bills. 

Through its partnership with Nest, Direct Energy, one of North America’s largest energy and energy-related services providers, announced that it will be extending its Comfort & Control Plan to natural gas customers in Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio. The plan includes a Nest Learning Thermostat™ at no cost.
