Larry Gunthorpe, 58, died Aug. 19. He was born Dec. 19, 1959, in Lansing. 

Kathleen (Kathy) McCauley was unanimously elected to MCAA’s board of directors. She is the president of McCauley Mechanical Construction, Inc., a full-service mechanical contractor with projects ranging from boiler and chiller installation to medical-gas and industrial piping, and complete Design/Build and HVAC service maintenance services.

The team from Colorado State University won the final round of the Student Chapter Competition at MCAA18, taking home the first prize and $10,000 for their efforts. Their proposal for the renovation of a New York City steakhouse beat out proposals from the Fairleigh-Dickinson University, the University of Washington and the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
