Education at CONSTRUCT, sponsored by the Construction Sspecifications Institute, is carefully thought, crafted and put together by industry leaders for industry professionals just like you. CONSTRUCT offers enjoyable learning experiences through a variety of educational programs.
- Conference program. The Conference program was created with the support of the Education Advisory Council -- a group of your peers – who spent hours reviewing hundreds of presentation topic submissions. CONSTRUCT's Conference program features practical solutions, updates and reinforcements for commercial building professionals.
- General Session/Keynote. Ira Blumenthal, the president of CO-OPPORTUNITIES, Inc., will the the Keynote for CONSTRUCT 2013. This hour-long presentation, available to all registered attendees and exhibitors, will inspire and inform. Keynote speakers are selected from or allied to the A/E/C community and past speakers include Bjarke Ingels, Cameron Sinclair and Dr. Tracy Kijewski-Correa. The General Session always has a rousing kick-start to the event.
- Learning Pavilion. The Learning Pavilion is quick-paced, 60-minute courses on the show floor led by exhibiting building product manufacturers will get you up-to-date on the latest technologies and products hitting the construction market. The educational tool is free to all attendees.
- Technical Tours. The technical tours are created with the intent to inform, educate and offer an enjoyable local experience.
CONSTRUCT offers AIA/CES learning units for all presentations in the conference program, and GBCI CE hours for relevant presentations under the Hanley Wood provider status.
- Beginning in January 2013, AIA members will no longer need to complete the sustainable design requirements to fulfill their AIA continuing education. AIA members are required to satisfy a minimum of 18 LUs per year. Of this total, 12 must meet the Health Safety, and Welfare (HSW) criteria.
- LEED professionals can receive GBCI credits for relevant classes. Approved classes are indicated on the 2013 Session Schedule. The two technical tours have also been approved. Participants will use their certificates of completion to self-report their credits. LEED professionals are required to maintain their credentials during a 2-year reporting period. LEED Green Associates are required to complete 15 GBCI credits, 3 of which must be LEED specific. LEED APs with specialty must complete 30 GBCI credits, 6 of which must be LEED specific.
