June 9, 2005: ABB Group Appoints Terwiesch As Chief Technology Officer
ZURICH, Switzerland - ABB's power and automation technologies group has announced that Peter Terwiesch will become the group's new chief technology officer. He takes over from Markus Bayegan, who is retiring. Terwiesch is currently head of technology of the automation technologies division - one of the group's two core businesses.
Terwiesch joined ABB as a scientist at the corporate research center in Dättwil, Switzerland, in 1994. Among other positions in Switzerland and Germany, he has also been head of the Dättwil research center. His appointment as chief technology officer takes effect on July 1, 2005. Terwiesch studied electrical engineering at Karlsruhe University and received a Ph.D. from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
