John Levy of Oilheat Associates (www.oilheatassociates.com) worked on an Oil Heat Cares project recently and described the story in the local chapter newsletter. Here is an edited version of the story:
"The day started at 8 a.m. when the service vans showed up at a home shared by a 75-year-old mother and her two adult handicapped children. But the story started several months earlier when a local group of veterans found a decaying monument to an American soldier who'd been killed in the Vietnam War. In the course of their investigation, they came across his mom and siblings living in dire straits. The group adopted the family and decided to perform a series of long overdue home improvements and general repairs.
