BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Here's the scene: The building whose HVAC system you maintain has been attacked. What should you do? What should your system be able to do? These questions were posed by the moderator of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) forum on "Blast, Chemical, Biological, and Radiation Attacks" during the association's 2005 Winter Meeting.
Some guidelines already exist, particularly for military structures. Documents are also available from the industry's European counterparts, who have more experience in this area.
