The common conception in the construction industry is that "green" buildings - those designed to be energy efficient and environment friendly - are expensive to build. But there have been several recent reports, and at least one building project, dispelling this belief.
This past summer, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) sponsored a Developing Green conference aimed at exploring the latest trends in green buildings. Reduced energy costs were among the many benefits of environmentally conscious development discussed.
