Sporlan Valve Co. honored its employees and retirees who have served or are serving in the United States Armed Forces with a special Flag Day commemoration ceremony June 14 at the company's world headquarters in Washington, Mo. Vice President Mike Noelke said, "Sporlan is proud that 99 percent of our products are made in the United States, and we are very proud of our men and women who have served our country." Veterans from the following branches of service were individually recognized during the ceremony: Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and the Missouri Air National Guard. Two current employees, both active in reserve units, were unable to attend due to military duties. Vice President Joe Grimm noted that those assembled for the event had served in at least 26 foreign countries over the past 60 years. "By defending freedom around the world, you also contributed to the robust economy of our company and our nation," he told attendees.
