Houston IAQ Product Manufacturer Wins Honorable Mention Award
HOUSTON — Isolate Inc., of Houston, received an honorable mention for innovation in indoor air quality (IAQ) products at the 2003 American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) convention and trade show held in Chicago. The company displayed a duct-mounted combination UVC/HEPA air filtration unit with integral supply fan for space pressurization. The unit may be used as either a positive or negative pressure IAQ filtration module to kill and capture microorganisms in the air.
The unit is a compact design for above the ceiling and in-duct mounting for existing (retrofit) and new air conditioning use. All air delivered by the unit is 100 percent treated with a very high dose of UVC (ultraviolet) kill energy for maximum microbe elimination, with a trailing 99.99 percent efficient hospital-grade HEPA filter to stop all airborne particulate, down to a size of 0.3 microns, says the company. According to Isolate, “Until now, no duct-mounted equipment has combined the capture performance of a HEPA filter with the killing power of UVC in such a compact and user-friendly package.”
