BRAMPTON, Ontario - Canadian Tire Corporation was sentenced in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on three counts of violating the ozone-depleting substances regulations of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. A penalty of $25,000 was imposed.
According to Environment Canada, the corporation was found to have illegally imported bar (under the counter) refrigerators containing dichlorodifluoromethane (R-12).
