WASHINGTON, DC — Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham celebrated “Weatherization Day” by praising the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Weatherization Assistance Program. The program is celebrating its 26th anniversary.
“The Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program is helping thousands of families throughout the country reduce their costs for heating and cooling their homes,” said Abraham. “With weatherization, these families will save an average of $218 each year. President Bush recommends increased funding for weatherization assistance over the next 10 years, as outlined in his National Energy Policy.”
