The Craftsman noncontact infrared thermometer with laser pointer features one-button operation, the company says. The unit takes measurements with a target-to-distance ratio of 1:6, meaning the tool can measure the temperature of a 1-in. dia from 6 in. away. This narrow field of view helps to assure that readings are due solely to the target and not the surrounding environment. It measures temperatures between 0° and 600°F (-20° to 320°C) with an accuracy of 98% or better, says the company. Additional features include a backlit LCD and °C/°F switchable readings.
