INDIANAPOLIS - Carrier Corp. brought some relief to those in need with its second annual Operation Heat Rescue project. The company donated over 1,000 window air conditioner units to charities in cities across the country. The relief effort covered nine markets including New York, Raleigh, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Chicago.
Temperatures reached close to or over 100°F in all nine cities in early August, and in recent years such extreme weather conditions have lead to heat-related illnesses and deaths. Recognizing the need among these communities for air conditioning, Carrier decided to give back on a local level.
