Rule also includes residential dehumidifiers and self-contained air conditioners and heat pumps
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed adding several new low-GWP refrigerants to its Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program for some comfort cooling and refrigeration equipment.
SNAP Rule 25 is proposing to find HFC-32, HFO-1234yf, and the four refrigerant blends, HFO-1234yf, R-454A, R-454B, and R-454C, acceptable subject to use conditions as substitutes in certain types of chillers. This proposed listing for the four blends applies to all compressor types of chillers, i.e., centrifugal and positive displacement (including reciprocating, screw, scroll, and rotary) chillers, while the proposed listing for HFC-32 and R-452B applies to only scroll and rotary chillers.
