NORMAN, Okla. — On April 17, Johnson Controls Inc. officially opened its newly expanded rooftop manufacturing, design, and testing facility. Almost 400,000 square feet of laboratory and manufacturing space were added to the nearly 50-year-old plant, bringing its total footprint to 900,000 square feet. In addition, over 150,000 square feet of office and meeting spaces were renovated during the expansion.
Dubbed the Rooftop Center of Excellence, the facility will serve as the flagship location for industry research, manufacturing, and testing of Johnson Controls HVAC rooftop units. Most importantly for the community of Norman, Oklahoma, the expanded facility will result in the addition of about 300 jobs.
