Rule pertains to certain equipment classes of WICF refrigeration systems
The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) has published a final rule in the Federal Register in the certain equipment classes of walk-in cooler and freezer (WICF) refrigeration systems — 82FR31808 (July 10, 2017). The DOE is adopting energy conservation standards for the following classes of WICF refrigeration systems: low-temperature dedicated condensing refrigeration systems and both medium- and low-temperature unit coolers. The standards published in the final rule were the results of a negotiated rulemaking that included refrigeration system manufacturers, installers, utilities, states, and energy efficiency advocates.
