ROCKVILLE, Md. — The National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau (NCPWB), a subsidiary of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), announced it has developed a new soldering procedure in accordance with ASTM B-828, Standard Practice for Making Capillary Joints by Soldering of Copper and Copper Alloy Tube and Fittings.
Companies are required to follow this standard when making soldered joints in copper plumbing and similar systems under many ASME Piping and Building Codes. Qualification of the procedure is not required.
