Chemours Introduces Two New Low-GWP Refrigerants in the US
Will replace refrigerants deemed by EPA as no longer acceptable in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning
WILMINGTON, Del. — Chemours announced that two new Opteon™ refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP) are now commercially available in the United States. The company said these are the first in a portfolio of low-GWP stationary refrigerants that it will introduce to the U.S. in the next few years.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently approved these new products, Opteon XP40 (R-449A) and Opteon XP10 (R-513A), under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program for use in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning applications.
