Air Masters HVAC Projects Named AGC Keystone Award Finalists
Finalists and winners will be announced at the AGC of Missouri Construction Awards Gala
ST. LOUIS — Two Air Masters HVAC projects — the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and North County Technical High School in Florissant, Missouri — have been named finalists in the Construction Keystone Awards by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Missouri. Finalists and winners will be announced at the AGC of Missouri Construction Awards Gala on Nov. 12, 2015.
For the Gateway Arch, Air Masters completed a complicated first — a comfort HVAC and controls upgrade in the national monument’s 630-foot legs, to provide conditioned air for tram passengers on their way to the Arch observation deck. Fifty-year-old pneumatic controls, well past their typical lifespan, were replaced with computerized controls. Working inside a curved structure with 20 separate worksites situated high in the air required special protocol and preparations to keep trams operational, workers safe, and visitors comfortable during construction. The project is a finalist in the Specialty Contractor, Industrial/Infrastructure projects under $5 million category
