Award Recognizes Superior Commitment to the Organization
PARSIPPANY, N.J. — The Hydraulic Institute (HI) recently named Aleks Roudnev, manager of research and design — applied hydraulics, Weir Minerals North America, as its 2014 Member of the Year. The HI Board of Directors selected Roudnev for his superior commitment to the HI in both leading and actively participating in numerous HI committees in the advancement of the institute’s technical work as well as in guiding young engineers within the institute’s extensive technical organization.
As an active member of HI since 1995, his recent contributions include serving as chair of the HI standards committee and the slurry pumps committee. He currently serves as vice chair of the HI General Guidelines Committee. Roudnev has distinguished himself for the level and extent of his involvement, thus advancing the technical work of the HI on many levels. As expressed by many HI members, his wisdom is appreciated by the committees, which benefit from his participation. Further, he has provided support to develop and enhance the language used in standards and guidelines, and he has been instrumental in improving the clarity and precision necessary in establishing ANSI/HI standards.
