Energy Upgrade California Partners with NHL Teams on Energy Efficiency Campaign
Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks Promote Ways Fans Can Manage Energy Use
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — As part of a campaign devoted to rallying Californians to “Play Your Part” to meet the state’s energy goals, Energy Upgrade California® has announced partnerships with the National Hockey League’s (NHL’s) Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks to help raise awareness about ways people can better manage energy.
In February, the NHL teams began to air video vignettes with Bear (the state bear from California’s flag and a fan of Energy Upgrade California) during home games on the big screen in the arena and during telecasts. The teams are also sharing social media posts on their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, and featuring the campaign on their websites. This strategic partnership is designed to show Californians how they can manage their energy use and help the state meet its aggressive energy goals, recently reiterated by Gov. Brown in his inaugural speech.
