Provides Equipment Manufacturers with a Better Understanding of DR Program Usage
MORGAN HILL, Calif. — The OpenADR Alliance has announced the first draft of its OpenADR 2.0 Program Guide to facilitate more demand response (DR) programs and advance product development. The guide defines typical automated demand response (ADR) programs and explains how they are implemented using OpenADR 2.0. The OpenADR Program Guide expands the range of DR scenarios available to energy providers, while giving equipment manufacturers better information on typical DR program usage models.
“The OpenADR standard is rapidly becoming the international solution of choice for residential, commercial, and industrial DR programs,” said Rolf Bienert, technical director, OpenADR Alliance. “This guide will provide manufacturers with a better understanding of the requirements of their systems beyond the OpenADR 2.0 interface and will give utilities commonly used recipes tailored to target typical DR objectives and problems.”
