CHICAGO — Commercial vehicles occupied some of the largest booths at the 2015 AHR Expo and certainly left their mark on the event and its 61,000 attendees as major manufacturers showcased new lines of trucks, vans, and accessories.
Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, and Nissan all displayed vehicles from their respective fleets with each bringing something unique to the table. Finding ways to increase miles per gallon (mpg) on those respective vehicles emerged as the overriding trend at the AHR Expo, and for good reason. In a recent interview with CNBC, former Shell Oil president John Hofmeister predicted U.S. oil could undergo a sizeable increase from the current levels of $48 a barrel to $80 by this fall. That would cause gas prices to double from the current $2 price to $4 by next winter.
