MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada — The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) reported sales decreases year-to-date in commercial and residential air conditioning in the fourth quarter. Residential air conditioning showed a decrease of 20 percent, while commercial air conditioning showed a decrease of 17 percent.
Remaining product shipments showed an increase year-to-date as ductless split systems, unit heaters, and air-handler units increased 11 percent; chillers, 6 percent; and residential furnaces, 2 percent.
