Scholarship Awards Up to $10k to Students Over 2 Years
ATLANTA — Twenty-five students are receiving nearly $130,000 in financial assistance for the 2014-2015 school year courtesy of ASHRAE’s scholarship program. Hannah Littman, Georgia Institute of Technology; Alex Gasper, North Carolina State University; and Hunter Bachman, University of Delaware, received the Reuben Trane Scholarship. The scholarship grants $10,000 to students over a period of two years and was established by Trane in memory of its founder, an innovative engineer, inventor, and business executive.
Emmett Konrad, Iowa State University, and Elena Stutzer, University of Alaska, received the Willis H. Carrier Scholarship, a one-year award worth $10,000. The scholarship was established by the Carrier Corp. in memory of its founder, who installed the world’s first scientifically designed air conditioning system. Katelyn Stenger, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology; Courtney Hart, Vermont Technical College; Garth Grunerud, Lakehead University; Harrison Gray, University of Nevada; Keshavan Kope, University of California; Arkasama Bandyopadhyay, Oklahoma State University; and Nicole Barber, University of Regina, received one-year scholarships worth $5,000.
