Oct. 16, 2014: enVerid Systems Receives DOE Funding for Energy-Saving HVAC Technology
Intelligent, Modular, Low-Cost Scrubber Can Be Retrofitted or Used in New Construction
HOUSTON — enVerid Systems announced that it has been awarded $2.4 million through a cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to accelerate the deployment of the company’s new HVAC Load Reduction (HLR™) technology for buildings.
enVerid said its HLR technology addresses one of the leading causes of energy waste in buildings associated with HVAC systems, which stems from the constant need to replace indoor air with outside air. The replacement of air in buildings is required to remove indoor-generated air contaminants like carbon dioxide and organic gases that are released by the occupants and the indoor objects. But air replacement means HVAC systems expend energy to condition the incoming outside air, accounting for a substantial percentage of the total energy bill of any building.
