More Than 400 Companies Are Now Active in the Sector
BOULDER, Colo. — The surge in demand for energy management technology has expanded, and heated up, the competitive landscape for building energy management systems (BEMS), states Navigant Research. More than 400 companies, from well-known industry names to specialized control vendors and software startups, are now active in this sector. According to a new Leaderboard report from Navigant Research, Schneider Electric and Siemens now lead the BEMS market in terms of strategy and execution.
“The rise of BEMS has enabled new levels of insight into and analysis of energy and operational data that was not possible just five years ago,” said Eric Bloom, principal research analyst with Navigant Research. “This intensely competitive market will more than double in size over the next six years, reaching $5.6 billion in annual market value by 2020.”
