EnerNOC Customers in California Win Energy Efficiency Best Practice Awards
Three Universities — CSU Dominguez Hills, UC Davis, UC San Diego — Are Honored
BOSTON — EnerNOC Inc., a provider of energy intelligence software, announced that three of its customers have each won Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Best Practice Awards from the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference. California State University (CSU) Dominguez Hills and University of California (UC) San Diego both won in the Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx) category and UC Davis won in the HVAC design retrofit category.
“The goal of the project is to make the building ‘smarter’ — so that the building ‘knows’ what it needs to do to keep everyone safe and comfortable, but doesn’t need to waste energy doing anything extra,” said Joshua Morejohn, energy manager at UC Davis. “By expanding the scope of a planned lighting occupancy sensor retrofit, we are able to tap into the occupancy information from each room, share it directly with the HVAC control system, and optimize the operation of the building. In collaborating with EnerNOC’s professional services team, we were able to reframe the original project to actually get more out in the end than just the sum of the parts.”
