May 1, 2014: EPA Releases Top 25 List of Cities with Most Energy Star Buildings
Los Angeles Tops the List with Washington, D.C., in Second Place
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the sixth annual list of the top 25 U.S. metropolitan areas with the most Energy Star certified buildings. The Top 10 cities on the list are: Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; New York; San Francisco; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Philadelphia; and Houston.
“Not only are the Energy Star top 25 cities saving money on energy costs and increasing energy efficiency, but they are promoting public health by decreasing greenhouse gas emissions from commercial buildings,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.
