ATLANTA — In an effort to provide ventilation requirement consistency, ASHRAE is considering combining two standards into one for dwelling units of multifamily buildings of any height.
Currently, ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2013, “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality,” has responsibility for multifamily residential buildings four stories or more, while ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2013, “Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings,” has responsibility for residential buildings three stories and fewer.
