Dec. 27, 2013: DOE Certifies Southland Energy as Pre-Qualified Energy Service Company
Certification Validates Company’s Record of Helping Federal Agencies Reduce Costs Through Energy Savings
DULLES, Va. — Southland Energy, a division of Southland Industries, announced that it has been approved by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a qualified energy service company. With several qualifications required for a company to be recognized by the DOE, this certification validates Southland Energy’s track record of helping federal agencies reduce costs through energy savings solutions. For federal agencies that are looking to reduce energy costs and meet renewable goals, this certification means they may now directly engage Southland Energy to perform energy services work.
“We are very proud to have received this important certification and qualified status for Southland Energy,” said Natasha Shah, vice president of Southland Energy. “This qualification not only strengthens our foothold in the federal market, but will also allow us to work even closer with the federal government and other entities in offering energy saving solutions to help fund infrastructure upgrades. Taking into account that we have completed over $1.3 billion in design-build federal government projects, it makes us uniquely qualified to implement bundled, energy-focused projects.”
