Nov. 11, 2013: Army Wants More Partnerships Related to Housing, Energy
Looking for Private Sector Help in Maintaining and Operating Bases
WASHINGTON — Now is the time for the Army to increase partnerships with the private sector in areas such as housing services, renewable energy, and other installation infrastructure elements, Army leaders said at the 2013 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition.
“When we partner with industry, we’re able to focus limited appropriated funds on our core competencies ... training and equipping ... by letting the private sector help us in maintaining and operating our bases,” said Katherine Hammack, assistant secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment.
