SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Mechanical contracting firm TAG Mechanical Systems Inc. announced that it provided HVAC mechanical systems and a 54 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system for the Skaneateles Village Hall in Skaneateles, N.Y. The facility is the first municipal net-zero energy building in New York State.
The Village of Skaneateles and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced the grand opening of the building earlier this month. TAG Mechanical installed two Daikin McQuay SmartSource vertical inverter water source heat pumps to provide heating and cooling of the facility as part of a geothermal system, and 220 Aleo solar PV panels on the roof will generate approximately 62,000 kilowatt hours per year of electricity. Electricity not used by the building will be placed on the grid.
