Intermountain Healthcare to Save Energy, Improve IAQ with Coolerado
Payback of Less Than Five Years Is Expected
DENVER — Coolerado announced that Intermountain Healthcare has selected the Coolerado M50 line of air conditioners to reduce energy costs and increase environmental health for its clinics, home health, and operating room settings. Intermountain expects a payback of less than five years and the fact that the Coolerado system uses 100 percent fresh outside air that’s filtered before it’s cooled means fewer germs, and less dust, pollen, and allergens. By utilizing the M50s, Intermountain will be exceeding ASHRAE’s guidance for operating rooms which prescribes changing the air out four times per hour.
Troy Jensen, corporate energy manager for Intermountain Healthcare, said, “With an 88 percent decrease in environmental impact, everyone should be re-thinking their a/c solution and considering Coolerado whose energy efficiency ratio (EER) is around 42 versus 13 to 18 for a typical cooling solution. We take saving energy very serious here at Intermountain and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with Coolerado to make such impacting changes.”
