TAG Mechanical Installs Geothermal System for Parade of Homes
Geothermal System Offers a Small-Footprint, Highly Energy Efficient Configuration
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Mechanical contractor TAG Mechanical Systems Inc. provided an Earthlinked Technologies geothermal system for the Oakhurst model at the 2013 Parade of Homes in Jamesville, N.Y., a suburb of Syracuse. The Parade of Homes event, hosted by the Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York, showcased the latest construction trends and practices at Jamesville Grove Estates.
The Earthlinked Technologies direct exchange geothermal system installed by TAG is a small-footprint, highly efficient system that uses the consistent ground temperature (in this case approximately 100 feet down into the earth) to provide heating and cooling as well as hot water. A copper tube earth loop configuration circulates a heat-transfer refrigerant for energy efficient heat exchange with the earth. The system brings heat from the earth to a compressor to heat the home during the heating season and removes heat to the earth during the cooling season.
