July 15, 2013: Smart Thermostats Being Enrolled in Calif. Demand Response Study
Thermostats to be Included in Southern California Edison’s Residential Demand Response Program
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — EnergyHub and Southern California Edison (SCE) announced that EnergyHub is enrolling thermostats from a number of thermostat manufacturers and service providers, including Alarm.com, Radio Thermostat Company of America, Vivint, and several brands of Ingersoll Rand: Nexia™ Home Intelligence, Trane, and American Standard, as part of SCE’s residential demand response study on programmable communicating thermostats this summer.
SCE residential customers with qualifying devices such as a thermostat from one of these approved manufacturers or service providers that enroll through EnergyHub can receive a $1.25 bill credit for every kilowatt-hour of energy they save between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. when SCE declares Save Power Days.
