June 12, 2013: Thermostat’s Occupancy Sensors Provide HVAC Automation
Sensors Enable Occupancy Control of the HVAC System
GRAPEVINE, Texas — NetworkThermostat, a leading communications-based thermostat manufacturer, has announced the availability of its NT-OSC (ceiling mount) and NT-OSW (wall mount) occupancy sensors, which integrate with any NetworkThermostat GE, HP, or UP thermostat to provide automated control of HVAC operation based on room occupancy.
The sensors are connected to the thermostat via a single CAT5 or 4-wire thermostat cable. The thermostat provides power and automatically recognizes the occupancy sensor. The NT-OSC ceiling mount sensor detects 360 degrees with a coverage diameter of roughly 2.5 times the mounting height (up to 34.5 ft/10.5 m) while the NT-OSW wall mount sensor detects 110 degrees with a range out to 50 ft/15 m.
