March 27, 2013: EnOcean Alliance Advances Wireless Standard with New Product Profiles
SAN RAMON, Calif. — The EnOcean Alliance announced that it is advancing the interoperability between EnOcean-based wireless products from different OEMs with its release of EnOcean Equipment Profiles (EEP) Version 2.5. More than 100 product profiles are now available for developing different energy harvesting wireless solutions for building and industrial automation and smart home systems.
The EnOcean Alliance has more than 300 members in 34 countries worldwide and over 1,000 interoperable products and solutions. The common technological base is the EnOcean energy harvesting wireless technology. Energy harvesting is the use of motion, light, or temperature differences as an energy source for maintenance-free wireless modules.
