LAS VEGAS — Strategic thinking, technical issues, and employee compensation were a few of the issues tackled in the break-out sessions during the 69th Annual Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) Convention. The event also included an opening session speech by humorist Dave Barry, a well-attended trade show, and a closing dinner featuring KC and the Sunshine Band.
A session by Ted Garrison, president of Garrison Associates, Ormond Beach, Fla., addressed strategic thinking for contractors. Garrison talked about the construction industry as a whole, and contracting businesses specifically.
