ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) pledged support of Senate Bill 3343, the Nicholas and Zachary Burt Memorial Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Act, sponsored by Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Olympia Snowe, R-Maine.
The bill, which has been referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, would establish a federal performance standard for residential carbon monoxide detectors and encourage states to require the installation of detectors in all homes.
