There is a unique community development program underway in Phoenix that is bringing together manufacturers, architects, engineers, general contractors, sub-contractors, and the community to erect LEED platinum designed school structures built entirely by volunteers. Several industry manufacturers, a mechanical engineer, and two mechanical contractors are playing significant roles in the program called, The Green Schoolhouse Series which is underway at Roadrunner Elementary School along with a second project which broke ground at the Orangewood School on June 7. Plans call for additional projects in low income neighborhoods throughout the country.
