William David Bevirt passed away Jan. 17, 2012, at Casa de la Luz Hospice, Tucson, Ariz. He was born July 29, 1928 in St. Louis.
Bevirt attended Washington University, in Missouri; served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; and was president of D.F. Edwards Heating & Air Conditioning Co. in St. Louis. He moved to Alexandria, Va., and was employed by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). He became co-administrator of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB), from which he retired. He traveled the world giving technical lectures and has written more than 40 technical books on environmental systems technology, heating and air conditioning, sound and vibration, clean rooms, duct design, and others.
