CHICAGO — Zager Plumbing & Solar Inc. announced it will soon install a 10 kW grid-tied photovoltaic system at its office headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
The installation will consist of 46 solar panels mounted to the roof. The panels are designed to withstand wind speeds up to 145 mph. The project will also utilize a performance monitoring system that will show the current and cumulative energy production along with carbon and environmental offsets. The new solar energy system will offset over 20,000 pounds of carbon emissions every year. Zager was able to secure a $20,000 rebate through FPL’s Business Photovoltaic Pilot Project, and utilize a 30 percent federal tax credit to help make the installation cost-effective.
