SAN DIEGO — HC Info will offer the full-day training course, “Performing Legionella Assessments for HACCP Water Plans,” on Oct. 20, 2011 at Holiday Inn on the Bay in San Diego. The course is for engineers, water treatment specialists, industrial hygienists, and other professionals who want to get ready — before ASHRAE Standard 188 is finalized — to perform Legionella assessments of health care facilities, hotels, and commercial buildings.

Bill Pearson will present an overview of HACCP principles and the requirements of the draft version of ASHRAE Standard 188. Matt Freije will then explain how to investigate and document building water systems for the purpose of developing a HACCP Legionella plan. The day will conclude with a discussion of business issues such as pricing and partnering.

To make the most of the course, students will need to be somewhat familiar with plumbing systems and cooling towers because components of water systems will be referred to but not explained.

Tuition for the course is $480. Visitwww.hcinfo.comfor more information and to register.
