BAYTOWN, Texas — The Lee College Air Conditioning Club is receiving entries for its 13th annual troubleshooting contest, the "Texas Shootout." This contest for air conditioning students started as a southeast Texas-area competition, but has grown to a multi-state, national-level contest.
The troubleshooting contest again will benefit from corporate sponsorship, provided this year by both Carrier South Texas and Amprobe-Promax-TIF Instruments-Robinair. Prizes, valued this year at $8,000, will include air conditioning tools such as Total Line recovery units, Amprobe instruments, Promax recovery units, TIF instruments, Robinair equipment, temperature testers, refrigeration gauge sets, and digital charging scales.
