WASHINGTON — The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) has applauded the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of its fiscal year 2004 budget resolution, which includes a provision for subsequent enactment of President Bush’s full $726 billion economic growth and jobs plan, and noted that it sent a letter to the House members who supported the budget thanking them for their votes.
In their letter, Dirk Van Dongen, NAW’s president, and Jade West, senior vice president-government relations, wrote that, “We are increasingly convinced, and our members continue to tell us, that the fundamentals for a real economic recovery are not now in place, and that without enactment of a bold and aggressive growth plan, the economy will continue to sputter.”
