March 21, 2006: EPA Offers Patented Technologies for License
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that more than 130 EPA scientific patents of technologies available for license can now be viewed at the new EPA TechMatch Website. Under the Federal Technology Transfer Act (FTTA) of 1986, government agencies may patent and license inventions, which enable new ideas from government laboratories to enter the marketplace. Entrepreneurs can view and license these EPA technologies to develop new products.
For example, HVAC-related technologies listed at the Website include a rotating disk evaporative cooler and refrigerant compositions containing a hydrofluoropropane and a hydrofluorocarbon.
