March 24, 2005: AGC Announces Winners Of Training Award
LAS VEGAS - The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has named AGC of Mississippi and Western Summit Constructors Inc. the winners of its 2004 National Construction Craft Program Award. The award recognizes the winners for superior commitment to construction craft training. The announcement came at AGC's 86th Annual Convention in Las Vegas.
AGC of Mississippi was recognized for its Construction Education Foundation and the training it provides to high school students, member firm employees, and individuals in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and sheet metal crafts. Western Summit Constructors was chosen because of its in-house training program featuring the newly implemented Foreman Academy, a career development program designed to develop a strong base of future leaders.
